Wednesday 26th August	Trip to Chalkwell Beach near Southend. Quiet beach with cafe and toilets near the Railway Station. Plenty of benches to sit and watch the sea. Pleasant coastal walk if you prefer. Train from Upminster to Chalkwell at 11:34, off peak day return £8.35 with railcard, return when ready. Use Freedom Pass to Upminster if you catch C2C at previous station.

	Last month we took the Uber Clipper from Barking Riverside to Tower Pier, a great experience. Maybe we should do it again from somewhere upstream to Tower Pier. (Lunch at Tower Wetherspoons was a hit)
	We also went to the carvery at Snaresbrook Toby on the last Wednesday. As a thank you to our members every few months we pay for a main course meal. Next time is September, and the last of the year. You can register your interest, definite or interested on the QR code.

Breaking News: East London LGBT Seniors have been appointed free Vitamin D distributors by Borough of Newham. You can pick up a box at a Stratford Advice Arcade meeting, or, on prior request, at Forest Tavern.

 Older adults may need more vitamin D because it plays a crucial role in maintaining healthy skin, blood vessels, and immune function, which can be particularly important as the body ages. The recommended daily allowance for vitamin D is 90 mg for men, but older adults may require higher amounts due to factors like decreased absorption and increased oxidative stress
